Lighting designed for beauty and longevity
We believe that lighting should be more than just functional. It should be timeless, beautiful, sustainable, and crafted to last for generations. We embrace eco-conscious design and waste minimisation in all aspects of our process.
Proudly using Australian materials and supporting local suppliers
We are committed to supporting local suppliers and sustainable resources at all stages of our making process. We use homegrown Australian porcelain, material renowned for its exquisite translucency, non toxicity, durability, and natural beauty. By sourcing materials locally, we reduce carbon emissions from overseas freight and contribute to an ethical, transparent supply chain that supports local industries and suppliers.
We are a small, two-person team based in Melbourne, dedicated to crafting one-of-a-kind lighting that stands as an antidote to mass production. Every piece is meticulously handcrafted, ensuring quality, uniqueness, and an ethical approach to design. Unlike factory-made products, our process prioritises sustainability, artistry, and circular processes.
Slow clay craftsmanship and circular economy
We embrace the slow clay ethos, where each piece is meticulously handcrafted with minimal waste and energy consumption. Every part of our process supports a circular economy - from recycling porcelain waste to creating one-of-a-kind, unrepeatable surface formations that make every light unique.
Challenging the disposable mindset
Mass-produced, fast furniture contributes to growing landfill waste, with trends fading and materials discarded. In contrast, we create heirloom-quality lighting that challenges the use-and-replace culture by prioritising repair, reuse, and sustainable craftsmanship. We recycle clay, minimise resource inputs, and offer supply chain transparency, ensuring ethical and responsible production. We recycle all our packaging and have a net-zero studio process.
The art of Kintsugi: Transformative repair
Our commitment to sustainability is deeply inspired by the Japanese philosophy of Wabi-Sabi and the Kintsugi technique - an ancient method of golden repair. Rather than discarding porcelain that has shattered in firing stages, we restore and enhance it, turning cracks into glowing, golden features. These illuminated rivulets symbolise resilience and beauty, outlining that imperfection is something to celebrate, not discard.
sustainable design with purpose
In an era of increasing environmental challenges, we are dedicated to creating lighting that not only illuminates spaces but also sparks conversations about sustainability, longevity, and ethical craftsmanship. By choosing our lighting, you invest in functional art with a purpose that is good for the planet.
